ACCESS THROUGH ESCA PROPERTIES
Recreationalists have long used trails and roads within the ESCA properties to access the extensive trail newtwork maintained by the Bureau of Land Management (BLM). During the munitions remediation of the ESCA lands, FORA worked with local recreational groups to establish Access Corridors that would continue to allow the public passage through the ESCA properties onto BLM land.
This needed to be done in a way that protected both the munitions workers and the public. As a result, direct access onto ESCA properties was restricted and Access Corridors were put in place allowing the public to traverse the ESCA land onto BLM trails.
FORA has developed a map that identifies these Access Corridors. This map is available under the Documents & Maps section of the website. The map is also posted at kiosks located at the trailheads marked on the Access Corridors map.
As you ride or walk through the ESCA properties always take care to heed the signs posted along trails and roadways - they are there for your protection.
